Sacrifices worth sacrificing!

Living a Christ based life may be one of the toughest things we can do. When we accept Jesus into our lives, we are simply making a promise that we are willing to sacrifice whatever we have and give it all to our Lord. Nowhere in the bible does it say that this journey will be easy, in fact, Jesus said, “… If anyone were to come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross.” (Matthew 16:24) We must deny ourselves so Christ can become one with us, we must take up the cross so we can show we are obedient. Don’t forget the greatest sacrifice of all, Jesus! “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Why not repay Him for what He has done for us?
With great sacrifice comes great reward. We may sacrifice everything here but we will receive it all back, even extra, in heaven. We will experience no more pain or suffering. The streets of heaven will be made of gold and the walls will be decorated with all kinds of precious stone. God will be with His people and His people with Him. None of this can come unless a sacrifice is made here on this earth.
We will cross situations that are tender and difficult to pass but we are not going through it alone. Through prayer we are able to contact Jesus, “Then you ill call upon me and pray to me, I will listen to you. You will seek me and will find me when you seek me with all your heart,’ declares the Lord ‘and will bring you back from captivity…” (Jeremiah 29:13-14) We become one with Christ once we make the sacrifices that are needed, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
The sacrifices made now are not the end but the beginning of something great and will change the world around you. Are you willing to make that sacrifice?
